Frequently asked questions
Why does WagAtlas request my location?
WagAtlas uses foreground location access to center the map near you and find dog-related places within roughly ten miles. You can decline location access; the app will show its Denver preview area instead. You can change location access at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Why is a place missing or incorrect?
Place details come from OpenStreetMap, a community-maintained mapping project. Coverage varies, and information may be incomplete or outdated. In WagAtlas, tap the map where the place belongs, choose the new-location action, and open the official OpenStreetMap editor. An OpenStreetMap account is required to submit an edit.
Why does the Bags filter show locations that do not have bags?
The Bags filter shows dog-waste bag dispensers mapped in OpenStreetMap. It indicates that a dispenser has been mapped at that location, not that bags are currently in stock.
How do I refresh nearby places?
Tap the circular refresh button on the map. A manual refresh bypasses saved results and asks the map-data service for the latest available information.
Does WagAtlas work offline?
WagAtlas saves recently downloaded place results on your device. Those saved results can help the app open faster and can provide a limited fallback if the map-data service is unavailable. Map imagery and new areas still require an internet connection.
How do I reset location permission?
Open iOS Settings, find WagAtlas, select Location, and choose your preferred setting. WagAtlas only requests location access while you are using the app.
How do I remove locally saved WagAtlas information?
Deleting WagAtlas removes its locally saved app data. Reinstalling starts with an empty place cache.
Safety and accuracy
WagAtlas is a discovery tool, not an emergency, veterinary, navigation, or safety service. Confirm access rules, operating hours, service availability, and current conditions directly with the location. For a veterinary emergency, contact an appropriate veterinary professional or emergency clinic.
