FlockAround Privacy Policy

Rosette Development, LLC (“Rosette Development,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides FlockAround, a camera-aware navigation app.

Overview

FlockAround does not require an account. We do not sell personal information, display targeted advertising, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Location and route information

If you grant permission, FlockAround receives your device’s location while you use the app. It uses that location to show your position, calculate routes, provide turn-by-turn navigation, detect when you leave a route, and estimate arrival.

You may decline location permission and enter a starting address manually. You can change location access at any time in iOS Settings.

To calculate a route, FlockAround sends the selected starting and destination coordinates to Rosette Development’s routing service over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The service uses them to calculate a route and compare it with known camera locations. Route coordinates are not associated with a name, email address, Apple Account, advertising identifier, or user profile.

Address search, maps, and camera data

Address and place searches are provided using Photon and OpenStreetMap-derived data. Map imagery is provided by OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap-derived sources. Requests to these services may reveal the requested map area, search text, and technical connection information such as an IP address under their respective privacy practices.

Camera-location data may be obtained from community and open-source datasets. Camera records can be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.

Operational information

Our service and hosting providers may process technical connection information, including IP addresses, request timing, response status, and security logs, to deliver the service, apply request limits, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability. We do not use this information for advertising, cross-app tracking, or building a personal movement profile.

Information stored on your device

FlockAround may keep temporary app state needed to display the current route and navigation session. Deleting the app removes information stored in its app container.

Information you send to support

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and diagnostic details. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and improve FlockAround. We retain support communications only as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and legal obligations.

Disclosure of information

We do not sell or rent personal information. Information may be processed by hosting, mapping, search, and routing providers as needed to provide functionality, security, and reliability. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer, subject to applicable law.

Children’s privacy

FlockAround is a general-audience navigation utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or profile.

Security and international processing

We use encrypted connections and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information handled, but no network or storage system is completely secure. Service requests may be processed in countries other than your own under applicable provider practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as FlockAround evolves. We will post the revised policy at the same public URL and update the effective date.
